ALL freshman and sophomore students who may be interested in the field of “linesman” which is under the Electric Power and Distribution program, must enroll in this program at least 18 months -2 years ahead of time.  So, freshman and sophomores, if this is your interest, let MATC put you on a waiting list before you graduate!  We have at least 2 students that are heading this direction for their career this year. THINK AHEAD and don’t be left out!!

Sports Quest Playing with Purpose Scholarship-access @ www.allamericanaward.org  You can apply for this as early as 9th grade!

PSAT/NMSQT ( National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be given each year.   THis is available to sophomores as a preliminary test, and to all Juniors. Cost is approx. $17. More information later, since I have not officially received the full information.

Several sophomore VISIT  days are available for your college you may be interested in attending.  TYpically these dates are on Saturdays.  Look on your college choice websites for sophomore days!!

Engineering DAY at KSU for  soph or junior students.  Great opportunity to learn about engineering, science, math, chemistry and physics.  Online register  @ www.engineering.ksu.edu

 Students:  Start logging your volunteer service projects NOW!! This can be church service, neighborly service, school service, community service, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, visiting the elderly - anything you volunteer to do and don't get paid.  Many scholarships are now looking at what you do to be a helpful citizen in your community.  You  make a difference  by the little things you do for others!

REMEMBER: You must have a passing grade in all core subjects or you will have to retake the class. This is a new thing for freshman. Also, these grades are now affecting your grade point average which equals scholarships and opportunities in the future!  Take your time and complete your work..Give it your priority!
